Britannia

Britannia is a small hamlet, in the town of Bacup.

Britannia is most famous for it’s Coco-nut Dancers. They are a troupe of well-loved clog dancers, who perform every Easter in Bacup, dancing the 7 miles across town to the Glen, and stopping in at every pub on the way. The Coco-nutter’s dance was formed in Tunstead Mill in 1857.

Britannia has a popular biking/walking trail starting from Lee/Cragg Quarry and leading to Cowm Quarry, at a distance of roughly 6km.

Britannia also benefits from commuter and transport links leading into the main cities such as Rochdale, Oldham & Bury.

There are so many great features to this wonderful valley, and the property market reflects this. Get in touch with Coppenwall to start your journey.

Property in Britannia

Britannia has an average price of £162,147, which was more expensive than nearby Bacup (£124,652), Rossendale Valley (£149,924) and Whitworth (£122,988).

As there were only 17 properties sold in the last year, therefore, the average prices may only reflect the mix of properties sold, rather than changes in the local market itself.

In the past year house prices in Britannia were up 45% on the year before.

With so much on offer, now is the perfect time to sell your property with Coppenwall.
