The majority of our Coppenwall team are from Rossendale. We have lived ’round ere’ all our lives and we love it. Coppenwall is an online estate agency that has been born out of experience in the industry, and the Rossendale valley.

Why move / live in the Rossendale valley? well… here’s what team Coppenwall have to say.

New Hall Hey Retail Park

Rossendale valley is on the rise, with new developments such as the new retail park at New Hall Hey. This offers new shopping outlets such as: Pets at Home, TK Maxx, Costa Coffee, Dominoes, Aldi and Marks and Spencers.

Spinning Point Development

Rawtenstall town centre is currently in it’s initial phase of regeneration, with a new 8 lane bus station and  new office spaces for Together Housing.

The local council are spending a staggering 5.4 million pounds on the new project. This will definitely bring a fresh modern look to the town.

Named after one of Italy’s most visited markets in Sicily, A’Vucciria (which translates to ‘hubbub’), is a sophisticated, Italian tapas or “Ciccetti” bar and eaterie found on Rawtenstall’s popular bank street.

In a sophisticated and stylish setting, A’vucciria use the best of modern and traditional Italian flavours, drawing inspiration from local and authentic Sicilian produce in their dishes.

In 2018 they won the UK’s best Italian restaurant at the national Italian Restaurant awards and is an exceptional addition to the area.

St. Mary's Chambers, Rossendale | Live Music & Events Venue

St Mary’s Chambers

St Mary’s Chambers is a fantastic local entertainment venue which provides a wide variety of entertainment, live music and events.

The venue has hosted some huge names, from members of Take That and other popular groups, established bands and acts from the 80’s and 90’s, well known DJ’s and high quality tribute acts and show’s that cater for people of all ages.

The venue has become a great addition to the area’s entertainment and live music offerings and have seen people visit the venue from all across the UK to attend some of the high profile events they have had on offer.

Firepit Restaurant

Now… this is a very special place for us. We go regularly and LOVE the steak on a stone from here, you’ve got to try it! it’s the best steak in town. The Firepit also has a cocktail bar upstairs which has every drink you can imagine.

The cocktail bar can be dangerous though if you are booked in for a meal.

We’ve missed our table once or twice through drinking and chatting with friends.

Ski Rossendale / The Hill

The famous Ski Rossendale dry ski slope has been a valley hotspot for over 45 years. If you tell anyone that’s not from Rossendale where you are from, they usually ask, “is that where the ski slope is?”.

The slope was even advertised at Euston Station in London in 1984 to educate “Southerners” that there was more going on “up north” than they thought.

The ski slope offers training courses on skiing & snowboarding. Kids can play on Fun Tubes and have parties there.

There is an on site cafe powered by Ninja Coffee serving warm drinks and food and snacks. There’s something for everyone here.

Adrenalin Gateway – Lee & Cragg Quarry

Lee quarry Stacksteads used to be a fully functioning quarry. I used to play around on my mountain bike there as a youngster.

In recent years, the quarry has been turned into a man-made adrenaline-fuelled bike park. The quarry offers different routes for different skills of rider.

This is definitely on of our favourites.  Some of the team at Coppenwall are avid mountain bikers, spending a lot of time up the quarry and on the fantastic biking trails around the valley.

There is a fantastic famous ride called the Mary Townley Loop. This is a 47 mile bike ride around parts of Rossendale! It’s not for the faint hearted!
