Rossendale Round the Hills Walk
Round the Hills Walk – Sunday 7th September
This ‘rite of passage’ community walk in the Rossendale Hills has been a mainstay of the local walking landscape since 1966. Now organised by Rossendale Rotary, this ‘miles of smiles’ 18 or 14 mile walk starts and finishes at the Sports Club at Marl Pits.
Walkers can arrive from 8am to collect the route map and instructions before setting off for a brilliant day. It is a day for families, friends, well-behaved dogs, and anyone who loves a challenge.
If you have not already booked for the walk, you can turn up and register on the day, basically for free, though donations are welcome to help cover costs and fund local causes.
The wonderful local Mountain Rescue Team will be on hand to ensure safety, and there are various water and food stops along the way, though please bring plenty of water and some food as well. The Sports Club will also be open for food and refreshments after the walk.
