Crawshawbooth is a small market town, to the North of Rawtenstall, and was originally part of ancient hunting ground for the royal family. The surrounding farm and moorland is still, to this day, very popular with walkers and hikers
The town has a small primary school, Crawshawbooth Primary School, located outside of the main village, a few shops and eating places including a fish and chip shop, an Indian restaurant, a cottage bakery, Chinese takeaway, and an Italian restaurant. There is also an award winning butchers.
There have been a few celebrities residing in Crawshawbooth. Comedian and presenter Ted Robbins, and England and Manchester United footballer, Phil Neville have both lived in town.
