Newchurch is a village in between Waterfoot and Rawtenstall, and is built on Seat Naze. On this hill is a stone circle, thought to have been used originally in pagan rituals, although this has never been confirmed.
It was also home to Rossendale United Football Club on Dark Lane, until the club dissolved, and the building was burned down. The location is now being considered for 50 new family homes.
Newchurch also benefits from commuter and transport links leading into the main cities such as Manchester, Leeds & Preston.
There are so many great features to this wonderful valley, and the property market is reflecting this. Contact us at Coppenwall to start your journey.
Newchurch had an overall average price of £137,192 last year, and similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Waterfoot (£136,003), but was more expensive than Shawclough (£126,845).
The property sold prices in Newchurch were down by 6% last year, and 11% down on 2012 when the average house price was £154,427.
There were only 18 properties sold in the last year, therefore, the average prices may only reflect the mix of properties sold, rather than changes in the local market itself.
