Here at Coppenwall we’ve always supported our community by giving back and sponsoring events. Many of these events are for charity and for excellent causes.
Supporting Local Charities
Coppenwall primarily cover the Rossendale area when it comes to selling / letting properties, so it’s only right we give back to the local community. Not only do we run apprenticeship schemes to employ the younger generation, but we support local charities as well, as it’s the right thing to do.
Haslingden Girls and Ladies Football Club
Over the years, we have supported the excellent Haslingden Girls and Ladies Football club, which is a fantastic organisation that coaches women in football. The club has nearly 30 teams which play in differing age groups and is one of the most recognised clubs in the Rossendale valley. A few years ago they had some bother with a bogus shipping container that never arrived, and through a contact we managed to donate one to the club. Shipping container for HGLFC.
This year we’ve purchased the new kit for one of the girls teams. Their coach Ben Jones is also the clubs’ chairman. The new kit looks amazing and certainly on brand with our own company. This shirt will be going up on the wall in our Rawtenstall office.
Rossendale Gin N Trek Event
This year we sponsored the annual Rossendale Gin N Trek event in aid of Rossendale Hospice. This is a great event which sees nearly a thousand locals get out into the community and socialise visit a few pubs and try out some lovely gins. The event this year raised much needed funds for their charity.
World Gravy Wrestling
This is a truly unique event held at the Rose N Bowl in Rossendale, where participants wrestle in gravy, Coppenwall is one of the main sponsors of the event and all proceeds go to East Lancashire Hospice. The amount raised every year is staggering. It’s a great family fun day out and another example of excellent local charity work here in the Rossendale valley. https://eastlancshospice.org.uk/
Rob Burrow Centre for MND Appeal
Whilst this event isn’t in Rossendale, a close friend of the business took on an absolutely staggering challenge, which was to do the Yorkshire 3 peaks, TWICE! in one day.
48 Miles and 6 peaks in a day is such a challenge and well done to the lads. Not only did we sponsor them to do it, but when the challenge was completed, the guys were a little shy of their target, so we rounded the numbers up to get them over the line. SANDS Ribbon Run
The Sands Ribbon Run is an event to raise money for the Sands charity. “Sands works to save babies’ lives and ensure that, when a baby does die, anyone affected gets the support and care they need. By taking part in Ribbon Run this year, the money you raise will allow us to continue to fund life-saving research. We will be able to continue to run our Sands Support Services, which include the Sands Helpline and our Sands support groups across the UK.”
A good friend of the business has completed their run to help the charity, so we sent them a donation. Again, a fantastic cause.
